What ฿50,000 a Month Rents in Phuket in 2026

By Islander Home Team

Back to journal

Around ฿50,000 a month is the budget we hear most often from families and couples planning a long stay in Phuket. It is a sweet spot on the island: enough for a proper house, and in the right area a private pool, without paying beach-villa prices.

To see what it buys, we took every long-term rental on our list between ฿45,000 and ฿55,000 a month, as of late September 2026. There are 77 of them, and the typical one is a three-bedroom house.

Koh Kaew and Thalang: the most house for the money

At this price, Koh Kaew and Thalang give you the most space: 15 of Koh Kaew's 19 homes have three bedrooms, and Thalang has four-bedroom houses in the range too. These are family houses in gated villages with a shared pool, security and garden, rather than private pool villas. Koh Kaew is the area for British International School; Thalang suits UWC and anyone who wants to be near the airport.

Chalong: your best chance of a private pool

If a private pool matters, look at Chalong first. Half of its 18 homes in this range have one, often in small estates around Palai and Soi Ta-iad. Of the 14 homes island-wide with a private pool at this price, 9 are in Chalong.

Rawai and Bang Tao: smaller, closer to the beach

In the beach areas the same money buys less space. In Rawai it is typically a one- or two-bedroom villa, such as this one-bedroom private pool villa at ฿45,000. In Bang Tao half the homes in range are condominiums, like the two-bedroom poolside condo at Canvas Cherngtalay, and the houses are mostly inland in Cherng Talay and Bang Jo.

What is usually included, and what is not

  • Usually included: furniture and appliances, and often Wi-Fi, pool cleaning and garden care. Read the listing; it varies house by house.
  • Usually extra: electricity and water, billed at the government rate or by the owner. With air-conditioning running, electricity in a three-bedroom house can add several thousand baht a month.
  • Move-in cost: most owners ask two months' deposit plus one month in advance, so budget for about ฿150,000 on day one at this rent.
  • Lease length: almost all of these are one-year leases. Shorter terms, if offered, cost more per month.
